Main Objective:

 The Production Planner/Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials within or between departments and facilities to meet production schedules and on-time order fulfillment. Routinely engaging in inventory management, managing production schedules and priorities, and participating in cross-functional teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensures timely product availability for all Company products according to goals and utilizing MRP & Demand Planning Systems.
  • Works closely with multiple production facilities, Supply Chain group & Customer Service to establish, distribute and manage production schedules/work orders to ensure on-time delivery of internal and external customer orders
  • Monitors materials inventories; requisitions and maintains inventories of material or supplies necessary to meet production demands
  • Issue, prioritize, expedite and track work orders and purchase orders for all facilities
  • Compiles information such as production rates and progress, materials inventories, materials used, product availability dates and materials shortages for necessary reporting functions
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction in Company's purchasing and inventory management processes
  • Review and analyze factors which affect schedules
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Eligible Candidates Will Possess The Following:
  • Familiar with a variety of Supply Chain concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Proficiency Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Access)
  • AS400 experience with ERP (MRP/MPS) software preferred
  • Ability to make immediate decisions in a fast-paced, high transaction environment
  • Solid analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal customers, peers and management
  • Ability to successfully interact with peers, management, customers and suppliers
  • Required Education/Experience:
  • Associate's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education/experience
  • 2-5 years' of planning/expediting/scheduling experience in a multi-facility manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Sitting for long periods of time (6+ hours per day/5+ days per week)
  • Viewing computer screen for majority of the work day (6+ hours per day/5+ days per week)
  • Dexterity to successfully and efficiently operate office equipment (PC, phone, fax, copier, scanner
  • Ability to safely and efficiently maneuver around the office and plant/warehouse floor when necessary
